Prinz Eugen was a German Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruiser, third in a series of five, which served in the Kriegsmarine during World War II.

She was named after Prince Eugene of Savoy, an Austrian general of the 18th century.

Prinz Eugen was one of the protagonists of Operation Rheinübung, a German attempt in May 1941 to cut off Allied merchant shipping across the Atlantic in which it was accompanied by the battleship Bismarck.

Following the German surrender in May 1945, the Prinz Eugen was transferred to the United States Navy as spoils of war. The US Navy assigned the cruiser to the Operation Crossroads nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll.

The wreck is still visible above the surface of the water; one of her propellers was salvaged and is on display at the Marine-Ehrenmal Laboe naval memorial in Germany.
