The model 40088 ROMANICA 11 reproduces the church of Sant Martí Vell in 1:50 scale. Located halfway along the route between the town of Castell de Vernet and the monastery of Sant Martí del Canigó, in the Conflent region (Northern Catalonia, France). This small church was linked to the monastery of Sant Martí del Canigó following its construction in the early 11th century. Later it served as a parish for the town of Castell, until it was completely in ruins as of the 18th century. It is formed by a ground plan with a single nave which appears to date from the 11
th century. The bell tower with a square base and two chapels in the form of a transept were added to this structure. Due to the lack of publications on the excavation work, the information available is very limited.
